Sharon L. Lechter co-wrote Riche Dad, Poor Dad with Robert Kiyosaki as well as a dozen other books, and is also a co-founder of the Rich Dad Company. Sharon Lechter was born on January 12, 1954, and is a well known author, educator, investor, inventor, philanthropist, and Sharon Lechter is also a CPA, or a certified public accountant. Sharon Lechter went to university in Florida where she studied accounting and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from Florida State University. Magna Cum Laude is a Latin phrase which translates into, with great honor, or translated directly as with great praise. So, Sharon Lechter graduated with great honors in accounting from university.
Sharon Lechter’s true passion has always been in finance and education. She is, as Robert Kiyosaki is quoted saying, “one of the few natural entrepreneurs”, but instead of focusing these skills she has solely for her own personal gain, her own resume of successful entrepreneurial projects, or for her reputation as an elite business woman, Sharon Lechter is passionate about education, as well as her community in general. Perhaps for the sake of the community, or really more for the benefit, Sharon Lechter has focused herself on making the community financially literate. That is why Sharon Lechter teams up so well and complimentary with Robert and Kim Kiyosaki.
Although before ever meeting Robert Kiyosaki or Kim Kiyosaki, Sharon Lechter was involved with many different sorts of projects, and held many different positions at various companies. Sharon Lechter has worked for computer, insurance, and publishing companies, all the while maintain her certification as a public accountant, and of course, pursing all of her extra curricular activities in her community.
In 1980, Sharon Lechter would meet her future husband Michael Lechter. Michael Lechter like Sharon, has a long list of credentials and an impressive resume that does more that just compliments his wife’s. Michael Lechter is an intellectual property attorney and is CEO and president of Tech Press. Michael Lechter is also, like the above mentioned, an author, investor, and educator. He has written several books on finance and is also part of the Rich Dad Company team. Michael Lechter contributed to the Advisor branch of the Rich Dad Company.
Together Sharon Lechter and Michael Lechter have proven themselves quite the powerful couple. In 2004, the state of Arizona officially recognized this as they honored Sharon and Michael Lechter for their influence in and around the state. Although, two years previous, in 2002, they as a couple were awarded the Spirit of the Children award from the Childhelp organization for their work and support of Childhelp as well as their individual work and efforts to stop child abuse.
Continuing with Sharon Lechter’s philanthropist merits, Sharon has been recognized many times over as a leader in education and charitable work. Sharon Lechter is very much and has been concerned with financial literacy of women, children and families. She believes that financial literacy leads to a greater life, community, country, continent, etc. It all starts with being a success financially instead of a failure which unquestionably leads to other problems. Sharon Lechter’s passion and dedication coupled with her enthusiasm to reach out and help people everywhere, and like Kim Kiyosaki, focusing on women specifically, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America recognized Sharon an award in recognizing this. Sharon received the Woman of Distinction award in 2005.
Although, in 2008, perhaps, Sharon Lechter would be recognized for her life’s work by a simple appointment by the president of the Untied States of America, as an advisor on the president’s Advisory Council for the development of financial literacy. This distinction, this call from the people that represent everyone Sharon Lechter helps, who in turn voted for those same people that are now honoring Sharon Lechter, ranks as one of the highest accomplishments of her career. It comes full circle as the gratitude Sharon Lechter has received only matches her output of humanitarian aid and her reach to the community through various forms of educating.
